Frances is a Canadian entrepreneur reborn as a Balinese Temple Priestess holding the highest power – her own.
She invites you to share in her life of courage, grace, and love.
Originally from Canada, Frances Tse Ardika met her future husband on her third day in Bali on October 8, 2000, and in the years that follow, she would fulfill her destiny as the first foreigner to become a Balinese Pemangku (Temple Priestess).
Prior to settling in Bali, she lived and worked in Hong Kong, London, San Francisco, Tokyo, and Toronto. Together with her husband, Adi, Frances owns Taksu Bali Travel & Weddings, Tresna Bali Cooking School, and two lovely Little Wooden Cottages in Ubud, Bali. When Covid-19 hit Bali in March 2020, they pivoted their businesses to create Feed Bali which has provided over half a million meals to feed almost 5000 families.
Frances has unique and magical insights about Bali’s rich culture; she lived within the confines of a real Balinese family compound as a Pemangku, experiencing a sacred side of Bali unseen by tourists.
Frances is the proud mum of Santi, her fellow bookworm and Como, her loyal rescue pup. If she’s not typing away on computer, you’ll find her baking delectable cream scones or wrapping dumplings with her daughter. Or perhaps walking in Adi’s garden with Como at her heels.
She loves sharing her deep knowledge of places to eat, play, pray and stay in Bali with like-minded foodies and travellers. And hopes one day to have the biggest book club in Bali!
Frances will give 10% of book profits to #FeedBali.
